The Capital Secretariat Council held its opening session for the fourth session of the sixth municipal session yesterday morning, in the meeting hall at the headquarters of the Secretariat, in the presence of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture Wael Al -Mubarak, the Undersecretary of the Municipal Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Director General of the Capital Secretariat, Mohammed Al -Sahli, and a number of senior officials in the ministry and the executive.
The Chairman of the Capital Secretariat, Saleh Taradah, started the session with a speech in which he expressed his pride in the achievements that were achieved during the previous session, praising the efforts of the members to present initiatives and discuss the files that directly affect the lives of citizens, stressing that the continuous cooperation with the executive body in the secretariat was an essential pillar to achieve what the council pushed to improve the level of services and develop infrastructure.
And he raised a Taradah in the name of the council, the highest verses of thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, stressing that the Council is inspired by the Royal Royal Vision and the directives of the wise leadership of its strategy in serving the country and the citizen, and continuing to achieve sustainable development, as he pointed to the aspirations of the council in the next stage, which is concentrated in the advancement of services The municipality, the development of parks and public facilities, and enhancing communication with society through qualitative initiatives.
For his part, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, Wael Al -Mubarak, praised during the session the efforts made by the Capital Secretariat in following up the affairs of citizens and developing municipal services, stressing that the ministry will always be the bond and the active partner of the council in its future projects, and that its hand is always stretched out to enhance the partnership with the municipal councils, explaining that the next stage will witness more cooperation in the files of infrastructure, urban planning and basic services.
During its opening session, the council discussed the agenda, which was affected to ratify the minutes of the previous session and review the ministry’s responses to the council’s proposals presented in the period between the two floors, in addition to discussing the recommendations of the permanent general committee and the approval of the formation of the specialized committees for the fourth session of the meeting 2025-2026 in addition to a brief review of the reports of the specialized committees for the previous role.
The Council approved the formation of its specialized committees, as the Public Relations and Information Committee headed by Dr. Kholoud Al -Qattan and her deputy d. Wafa wages and membership of Fatima Al -Hajji and Hoda Sultan. As for the technical committee, it was chaired by Mubarak Al -Nuaimi and his deputy, Maitham Al -Hayki, and included in her membership, Dr. Bashar Ahmadi and Muhammad Tawfiq Al Abbas. As for the Public Services and Utilities Committee, it was chaired by Muhammad Al Abbas and his deputy Fatima Al -Hajji, and he participated in her membership, Dr. Abdul Hassan Al -Dairi, Hoda Sultan and Dr. Fulfillment of wages. While the Financial and Legal Committee, headed by Hoda Sultan and its deputy, came. Abdul -Hassan Al -Dairi and the membership of Dr. Bazhar Ahmadi, Maitham Al -Hayki and Mubarak Al -Nuaimi.
The President of the Council and its members stressed that the next stage will witness double efforts to enhance infrastructure, road development, sanitation and lighting, as well as expanding the establishment and development of parks and public facilities and adopting community initiatives that enhance the citizen’s confidence in the role of the council such as the “Friends of Gardens” initiative and other awareness programs, and they also indicated that the council will work to find innovative solutions to the problem of car parks and the development of markets and facilities of a heritage nature alongside Supporting investment projects in partnership with the private sector.
At the end of the session, the Capital Secretariat Council renewed its commitment to continuing to work in the spirit of one team with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture in order to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership, and to promote the position of Manama as a modern integrated capital, which contributes to the welfare of the citizen, and meets the requirements of sustainable development.
