Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara said, in a speech to the United Nations General Assembly, on Wednesday, that Syria has become a country that represents a chance of peace and prosperity in the region, noting that “the previous regime killed about a million people, demolished about two million homes, and used the most heinous tools of torture against our people.”
The Syrian President pledged to provide all those who stole his hands with justice, pointing out that the unique Syrian achievement pushed parties to try to stir sectarian strife in an effort to divide the country.
Al -Shara called for all the sanctions fully lifting his country, so that it is not a tool for the Syrians again, saying: “We have set a policy based on diplomacy and stability, and we pledge to adhere to the Treaty of the Clash.”
The Syrian President affirmed the support of the people of Gaza and its children, calling for the immediate stopping of the war.
He continued: «Syria today is rebuilding itself, and it is a country with a civilization that is worthy of it to be a state of law.” He thanked Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and the United States.
