The Al -Hamidi area of Port Said Governorate witnessed during the past hours an enlarged campaign to remove the occupations, enlightening and brooms that closed the main road for many years, against the background of the horrific fire that recently erupted at the intersection of Talal Street in Al -Hamidi, and resulted in the burning of four wooden houses, the injury of a number of citizens burns and suffocation, and the death of Mrs. Noura Mohamed Ali, who is 36 years old.

The fire sparked an old crisis as long as the citizens warned of it, as the fire engines faced great difficulty in reaching the fire site due to the blockage of the street with the leather, fabric and fractures extending in front of the shops, which made the road almost completely closed in front of any emergency cars, which blew up a state of anger and fast demanding to open the streets to ensure the safety of the population.
The campaign was launched under the supervision of Major General Islam Al -Sayyad, Assistant Director of Port Said Security, with the participation of the Director of Occupations Department, the Head of the Investigations of Operations and the heads of Arab neighborhoods and climate, where all the violating enlightening and brooms were removed and removed, and reopening the road to traffic and passers -by, while emphasizing the continuation of these campaigns to include all commercial markets in Port Said neighborhoods.

An executive official explained that the campaigns aim to impose discipline in the markets, and prevent randomness that caused previous disasters such as the Al -Ghouri Street fire and the commercial area, stressing that the police will not allow the return of occupations again after removing them.
In their talk to “Cairo 24”, a number of citizens and merchants expressed their satisfaction with the decision to remove the occupations, where Ahmed Hassan, one of the residents of Al -Hamidi, said: “The last fire let us live hours of terror, and if the civil protection did not arrive at the appropriate time, we would have seen dozens of victims, removing the tine step in the right direction.” And rain, but in reality it is a great danger to us and our customers, the campaign is in our interest all of us because any fire can waste our livelihood and the lives of people in a moment. “

The citizens also stressed the need to continue the campaigns and not be satisfied with Al -Hamidi Street, in order to extend to all the commercial areas stacked by works, in order to preserve the lives of the people and the safety of the markets, stressing that what happened was a real warning bell that should not be ignored.
