Alaa Tawfiq, a lawyer for the defendant in the case of the seven Delga victims, said after the circulation of some sites and pages of truncated parts of his speech before the court, claiming that he said that the pesticide can be washed and eaten.

The lawyer confirmed in statements to Cairo 24, that these words were not issued on his tongue at all, explaining that what happened was that during the session he asked to discuss one of the witnesses mentioned in the case papers in front of the Public Prosecution, where this witness referred to the issue of the pesticide.
The lawyer added that what he said before the court was an explanation of what was stated by the witness with the papers only, and not a personal opinion or statement from him, stressing that the deduction of this part of its correct context and its circulation on the communication sites came with the aim of provoking the controversy and making a Trend, without investigative or verifying the truth.
The lawyer concluded his clarification by emphasizing his full respect for the court, and that everything that came in his speech was in the context of a purely legal discussion of what was stated in the investigation papers.
