In the context of implementing the National Food Safety Authority plan to enhance control of the food manufacturing and local and international trading sector, the General Administration of Factory Control implemented 115 inspection commissions in cooperation with the Industrial Control Authority, targeting the assessment of the extent of the commitment of food establishments to quality and food safety.
In the same supervisory context, the Control Department of Mobilization Stations and Centers implemented 53 examinations of examination, inspection and accreditation, and the administration issued 514 export permission for agricultural crops in favor of 457 companies.
The Authority also participated in the activities of the 2025 Sahara Exhibition in cooperation with the European Union through a workshop entitled “Agricultural Trade opportunities in the context of the green deal of the European Union and a strategy from the farm to the table” on Monday, September 15th, and during the workshop, the central role of the authority was reviewed in enhancing the safety and sustainability of agricultural products exported and traded in the local market, while emphasizing its commitment to support Egyptian exporters And enable them to efficiently reach global markets.
With regard to food exports, the number of food messages exported according to the report of the General Administration of Export and Imports of the Authority reached 3610 food messages of about 165 thousand tons, issued by 1333 exporting companies, and these messages included approximately 650 types of food products, which included vegetables and tubers, flour and products of grains, fruits and fruits, Mloas _ black honey Various food products.
In detail, the exports of sweet potatoes came at the top of the Egyptian vegetables during the past week also with 12 thousand tons, followed by beans of all kinds and potatoes with a total of 5 thousand tons each, and the total number of varieties of vegetables exported 35 varieties of about 30 thousand tons.
While the pomegranate issued the list of fruits exported during the past week with a total of 8 thousand tons, followed by mango with about 6 thousand tons, then strawberry with a total of 5 thousand tons, and the total number of varieties of exported fruits reached 30 varieties with a total of 22 thousand tons.
These exports were distributed to a large number of international markets, as Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Yemen and Morocco came among the most prominent countries of the Egyptian exports out of a total of 177 importing countries during the week.
With regard to the export outlets, Safaga Port ranked first in the number of food messages exporting it during the past week with a total of 570 messages, followed by Alexandria Port with 555 messages, then the Cairo International Airport port with a total of 440 messages.
In the context of supporting food exports, during the past week, the commission issued 940 health certificates for export, according to the mechanism approved since the beginning of the year, in a manner that ensures the conformity of products to safety requirements and enhances the confidence of international markets in Egyptian exports.
The number of food messages received to the country reached about 2160 messages, with a total amount estimated at 430 thousand tons, imported by 920 companies, and the varieties received to include wheat, soybeans and various oils, while Russia topped the list of countries exporting to Egypt during the past week, followed by Ukraine, America and Indonesia from among the total of 75 countries that exported food products to the Egyptian market.
Alexandria Port continued to occupy the first place in terms of the number of food messages received, with a total of 653 messages, followed by the Cairo International Airport Port in second place with 371 messages, then Port Said Port with 330 messages.
With regard to the customs excavations, 1290 food messages were released under the reservation “temporary release”, while the number of messages that were released within the rapid release system reached 365 messages, and in the context of implementing the decisions of the grievance committee, the records of a state of 80 messages were edited, and with regard to the import activity, import licenses were issued for 81 importers during the same period.
The General Administration of Registration and License of Special Food has continued its efforts to support the food trading system, during the week 46 food supplement products were registered and 402 new products were examined, in addition to issuing 17 free sale certificates, and the administration also implemented a number of supervisory visits and approved 17 companies operating in this sector.
During the past week, the National Food Safety Authority received 45 complaints received from multiple parties, including the unified government complaints system in the Council of Ministers and the Consumer Protection Agency, as well as complaints submitted directly to the authority, and 7 complaints have been addressed, while the rest of the complaints are being examined to complete the necessary procedures in this regard.
The authority also continued to support the smooth flow of food trading movement and not to accumulate in Egyptian ports, through the issuance of 1331 requests for transportation and storage for the food messages received, in addition to the reservation of 463 containers that are not satisfied with the requirements of food safety, within the framework of the authority’s keenness to tighten the food import system and protect consumer health.
The Mobile Food Units Administration also implemented a number of regulatory tours, which reached 23 rounds on mobile dining units in the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Qena and Assiut, and issued 22 export permits to animal natural envelopes to the European Union countries, after withdrawing samples and making sure that they conform to the approved export requirements.
