The representative of the twelfth district in the northern region, the municipal member Zainab Al -Darazi, said that in the context of the continuous efforts to enhance traffic security and safety in the northern governorate regions, a joint field visit was implemented with the participation of those concerned from the Ministry of Interior – the Communications Department, and those concerned from the Northern Governorate Police Directorate, in order to discuss and study the proposed sites to install 6 modern security cameras on Street 11, separating the 1018 complex and the 1020 complex in the Lawzi region.
Al -Darazi stressed that this project comes in response to the repeated demands of citizens, which were raised by the residents of the region to confront the phenomena of Altvhit, the inconvenience resulting from some vehicles, and the high rates of traffic accidents in the aforementioned street, noting that it has submitted an official proposal in this regard earlier to the Northern Municipal Council, which was adopted and followed directly with the Ministry of Interior until reaching the implementation stage, indicating that the Ministry of Interior seeks through these projects, To enhance traffic discipline, reduce dangerous behaviors on roads, and raise the level of security sense among citizens and residents.
Al -Darazi explained that the field visit included an accurate examination of the strategic sites in which the cameras will be installed, taking into account the street coverage of various angles to ensure the effectiveness of monitoring, and linking these cameras to the central monitoring systems in the Ministry of Interior. This comes as a continuation of the procedures previously implemented in the region, where two cameras affiliated with the General Traffic Department to monitor the speed and exceed the red signal, and this contributed tangiblely to reducing some violations, noting that this visit came after completing all administrative and technical procedures, and obtaining the necessary approvals from all relevant service authorities, to ensure the implementation of the project according to the highest technical standards, and in line with the plans of the Ministry of Interior In developing the security monitoring system on vital roads.
