The Official Gazette in Issue No. 187 issued on August 24, 2025 published the decision of Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of Interior, No. 1298, and 1299 of 2025, regarding allowing 42 citizens to naturalize foreign citizenship while retaining Egyptian citizenship.
A ministerial decision to allow 42 citizens to obtain foreign citizenship
Resolution No. 1298 of 2025 came after reviewing the constitution and Law No. 26 of 1975 issued on Egyptian nationality, and Ministerial Resolution No. 1004 of 2018, to delegate Major General Assistant Minister for the Minister’s Office Affairs Sector to start the competencies established by the Minister of Interior under Law No. 26 of 1975 regarding Egyptian nationality.
Where the first article of Resolution No. 1298 stipulates that each of the twenty -one citizens should be authorized, the first of whom is Karim Ahmed Muhammad Musaad Mustafa, the last of whom is Adam Mahmoud Abdel Aziz Abdel Rahman, whose names are listed in the statement attached to naturalization of foreign nationality shown, the name of each of them, while maintaining Egyptian citizenship.
In Resolution No. 1299 of 2025, the first article stipulated that each of the 21 citizens be authorized, the first of whom is Mohamed Mahmoud Ibrahim Abdel Majid, the last of whom is Mohamed Magdy Mohamed Abbas, whose names are listed in the statement attached to naturalization of foreign nationality shown in the name of each of them, while retaining Egyptian nationality.
