The Hospital of injuries and emergency at the University of Assiut announced 9,007 surgeries during the period from January 1 to June 30, 2025, as part of the hospital’s continuous efforts to provide specialized and integrated medical services to patients.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid, director of the hospital, said that the hospital received during the first half of this year 48,562 hesitants, where 19,524 cases were entered in the reception department, and 29,038 cases on outpatient clinics, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ahmed Al -Minshawi, President of the University, and Professor Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals.
Abdel Hamid added that the number of entry cases to the hospital reached 9,741 cases, in addition to receiving 533 cases of intensive care during the same period.
He explained that the total surgeries that were conducted reached 9,007 operations, distributed as follows:
4,037 bone operations
2,714 minor operations
756 major operations
475 “SBC” operations (infected)
624 various surgeries
401 endoscopic operations
The director of the hospital affirmed the continued work to raise the efficiency of medical services provided to patients and expand the conduct of accurate operations, in a way that serves the needs of Assiut Governorate and the surrounding areas.
