An Israeli official admitted that the Israeli government was aware that the Gaza Strip was close to the brink of starvation, but it continued its policies that endangered the lives of the civilian population.
The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted the official as saying that what happened was not the result of studied strategic calculations, but rather, caused by political pressures and fear of the reaction of national security ministers Etamar bin Jafir, and the finance in the Season Smotrich.
The Israeli newspaper also reported, quoting sources in the security establishment, that there is an increasing awareness within the military and security circles that there is a worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, in light of the deterioration of the living and health conditions of the population.
The American special envoy Steve Witkev heads to Gaza
In a related context, the American special envoy Steve Witkev will go to Gaza today, Friday, and accompanied by the American Ambassador to Israel, Mike Hackabi, to inspect the conduct of the delivery of humanitarian aid, according to the White House.
The White House added that the special envoy, and the special meeting held a fruitful meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials in Israel, dealt with the issue of delivering food and aid that is intensified in Gaza.
