In a scene that reflects the insistence of citizens to defend the right of their children to education, the oldest people of the village of Bani Majdoul of the Kerdasa Center and City in Giza Governorate, on an unprecedented step, when they decided to give up a 18 -carat plot of land (about 3 thousand meters) for the benefit of the state, in order to establish a new basic education school within the residential bloc.

The decision of the parents came after years of suffering with dilapidated and crowded schools, in which the intensity of the classes reached more than 100 students within the same class, amid real risks that threaten the safety of students, after one of the schools turned into a long building to fall since its establishment in 1964.
Dasen schools and overcrowded classes
More than 50 thousand citizens in the village live in real suffering, as there are only two primary schools and only one preparatory school that serves this large number, one of which is to fall after it was created in 1964, and works in two morning and evening periods under the name (Al -Fath Elementary School – Bani Majdoul Elementary).
Nabil Al -Fiqi, one of the people of the village of Bani Majdoul in Kerdasa, says: The chapters remained suffocating, the one chapter includes more than 100 students, and the children do not find a place where they are sitting, and there is a danger to their lives if the building occurred at any moment.
Students were transferred to neighboring villages
With the decision to evacuate the dilapidated school, students are preparing to move to distant neighboring villages, which increases the hardship of parents and doubles their suffering.
Umm Ahmed, one of the mothers, adds: We will not be able to stem our children walking distances every day, the road is dangerous, and there is no safe transportation, and the families most of them are simple.
“Abdullah. We have provided everything we have .. and we are not able to provide a second piece, ”adding that the people have nothing but waiting and appealing to the officials in view of their suffering.
He explained that the agricultural administration refused the land on the pretext that it is far from the residential bloc, to complicate the crisis more, and the school’s dream becomes at stake.
A new school soon
A few years ago, a new school was already created, but it was established on the outskirts of the village due to the lack of land at the time, which made it far from the residential mass. But the people today have returned hope for their decision to donate a plot of land inside the village and with a large area, adding their message to the officials to move quickly.
Haji Sayed M., a senior families, says: The land we presented to the province is a gift for no return … all of our children’s future … and we asked the only to start construction in order to join the future of the coming generations of our children.
An appeal to the governor of Giza
The people of Bani Majdoul assert that their dream in a modern school befitting their children has become in the hands of Giza Governorate, after providing the land for free, and the implementation remains Al -Faisal.
The people concluded their message by saying: “We did our work that we have .. We gave the land, and we seek help from the sovereignty of the governor and the ministry rushed into the steps before our children are displaced among the villages.”
