Ugandan President Yuri Musivini stressed that the relations between his country and Egypt extend for decades, noting that the political rapprochement began after the 1952 revolution and the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser assumed the leadership of Egypt, as he played a prominent role in supporting the African trend and combating colonialism.

Museveni said in official statements during a press conference with President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, that President Gamal Abdel Nasser was a believer in the nation and the African orientation, and therefore he worked with the various African presidents, and Egypt was under his leadership supporting the power of liberation and anti -colonial movements.
He added that Uganda has been linked to Egypt through the Nile River since a distant crisis, and that this political link dates back to the era of former President Abdel Nasser, praising the distinguished geographical location of Egypt overlooking the Mediterranean, which gives it a strategic advantage in the region.
In the context of his talk about future cooperation, the Ugandan President expressed his country’s desire to enhance the water bonding between Uganda, Alexandria and the Mediterranean Sea through the Nile, which contributes to supporting regional integration and expanding the horizons of economic cooperation between the two countries.
President Abdel -Fattah El -Sisi received today, at the Federal Palace, President of the Republic of Uganda, Yuri Kajota Museini, where the official reception ceremony was held, and the national peace was played for both the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Uganda.
The spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the two presidents held a closed meeting, and was followed by an extensive discussion session in which the delegation of the two countries participated, where the two sides discussed ways to improve the historical bilateral relations between Egypt and Uganda, and agreed to continue to strengthen them, especially with regard to political, commercial, and investment aspects, and in a way that achieves the common interest of the two brotherly peoples.
