Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Deputy Prime Minister, revealed that Egypt has received since the opening of the Rafah crossing last November until now about 8,000 patients and patients from Gaza, including very serious cases, who were distributed to more than 300 hospitals in 26 governorates, after receiving first in North Sinai Hospitals.

The minister said, in televised statements, that Egypt has performed more than 5,000 complex surgeries for the wounded and injured, noting that the state provided more than 150 ambulances around the clock to transport cases according to medical specialties.
He stressed that all the medical and therapeutic services provided were completely free, explaining that the cost that the Egyptian state in this humanitarian file amounted to about 500 million dollars, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi and Egypt’s keenness to stand by its Palestinian brothers.
The Minister stressed that these efforts did not affect the health services provided to the Egyptian citizen, adding: Egypt has not and will not trade in the Palestinian issue, and we remain committed to our historical role in supporting our brothers despite any financial burdens.
He also pointed out that Egypt is not satisfied with receiving the wounded, but rather continues to send humanitarian and pharmaceutical aid to the sector, including children’s milk and basic medicines, stressing the continued Egyptian support until the end of the crisis.
