An official source in Kafr El -Sheikh Governorate announced that Dr. Hani Swailem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, is conducting an inspection tour that includes a number of sites on the Nile and its Senate in the governorates of Kafr El -Sheikh and Beheira.
The source confirmed in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that the Minister of Irrigation begins his tour by inspecting the work of removing encroachments on the course of the Nile River, and emphasizing the state’s continued implementation of the law firmly towards violations that threaten the security and safety of water resources, according to a clear plan to remove all encroachments and ensure water flow, especially in light of the challenges facing the water sector in Egypt.
And Dr. Hani Swailem, Minister of Irrigation, previously confirmed in previous statements that the ministry is keen to achieve the utmost benefit from the available water resources, through the development of irrigation infrastructure, the use of monitoring and evaluation technology, and the expansion of water reuse projects.
It is expected that the Minister of Irrigation will conclude his tour with a meeting with a number of irrigation officials in the two governorates, as he stresses during the meeting the need to improve field performance, rapid interaction with citizens’ complaints, and follow up on the implementation of national projects on their specified times.
