The Supreme Council for the Environment affirmed its keenness to continue its efforts to enhance the commercial marine fishing sector, in a manner that ensures the sustainability of marine wealth and the preservation of natural resources, and contributes to supporting food security for the Kingdom of Bahrain and achieving the goals of sustainable development, through the adoption of policies and organizational decisions, which put the Bahraini fisherman a basic axis to which the success of all efforts is based, including Resolution No. (4) of 2025 to organize the license of the Bahraini fisherman To practice commercial maritime fishing, which enters into force on Thursday, August 28, after six months of its issuance, to be binding on all fishermen registered in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In this regard, the Supreme Council for the Environment pointed out the importance of all Bahraini fishermen to fulfill the requirements of the decision, and to complete the procedures for issuing the license of the Bahraini fisherman through the national portal of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Enhancing the partnership between the concerned authorities and fishermen to achieve the desired goals.
The council stated that it is required to issue a Bahraini fisherman’s license to practice commercial marine fishing, that the applicant must be Bahraini, and that his age should not be less than 18 years old, and that his validity to practice marine fishing is proven, and the council pointed out that it is prohibited from the Bahraini fisherman to work for any employer who is not shown in his license, and this is the period of the Bahraini hunter license one year, and it may be renewed for a similar period and the same conditions and procedures stipulated in it The decision, in addition to emphasizing that the Bahraini fisherman’s license is personally, and it is not permissible to transfer or waive it to others.
The Supreme Council for the Environment indicated that it is approved in the account of the number of Bahraini fishermen and crew members registered on the fishing vessel, according to its length, where the maximum permitted number of crew members on the back of the fishing vessel is calculated according to the length of the ship, so that it ranges from 3 individuals of the ships with a length of 18 to 21 feet, and reaches 9 individuals for the ships of the “Panosh” ships. The controls also set the maximum of the crew members of the Bahraini fishermen on board the ship, with the presence of the employer or Al -Noukhada, in addition to the maximum number of non -Bahraini fishermen (supportive workers).
