The Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates the anniversary of the founding of the Supreme Council for Women, this pioneering national entity, which is one of the most prominent features of the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Great Country, may God protect and preserve him. The establishment of the council came to be the official reference concerned with following up the affairs of Bahraini women, and to unify national efforts to enhance their role and empower them in various areas of public and private life.

Since its establishment, with the support and generous care of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of the great king of the country, President of the Supreme Council for Women, the Council has achieved prominent achievements that transferred Bahraini women from the stage of participation to the stage of influence and decision -making. The Council contributed to integrating women’s needs in national policies and enhancing their representation in decision -making sites, whether in Parliament, municipal councils, or diplomatic corps, as well as supporting their participation in the economic, scientific and cultural sectors.

The past years have witnessed the launch of a number of initiatives and programs that have strengthened the status of Bahraini women, including the national strategy for the advancement of Bahraini women, the national observatory for gender balance indicators, in addition to qualitative initiatives in the field of economic and social empowerment. The Council also had an effective role in highlighting Bahraini women in international forums, until it became a role model in the Arab region and the world.

In this context, Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa paid special attention to empowering women in the media field, in recognition of the importance of the media in shaping societal awareness and making public opinion. The Royal Royal Guidance came with the support of women’s participation in the media, by highlighting their successful models, providing specialized training programs, and encouraging them to lead in media institutions, in addition to establishing the Bahraini media network to be a platform that collects women’s media competencies.

And based on this advanced path, aspirations are heading in the next year towards new initiatives that complete the enabling process, the most prominent of which are: supporting the participation of women in the media, technology and digital transformation sector, strengthening training programs for girls in the technical and professional fields of media, launching national campaigns to raise awareness of the role of women in sustainable development, and expanding the scope of support for women’s youth projects in volunteer and social media work.

On this dear national occasion, we will go with the highest verses of congratulations and blessings to the Supreme Council for Women, headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of His Majesty the King, the President of the Supreme Council for Women, and to every Bahraini woman who contributed and contributed to the elevation of her homeland, asking God that the next year be a year full of success and prosperity, in light of the wise leadership and the good vision of His Majesty.
