“The supply chains’ attacks” the national exercise axis to enhance Bahrain’s readiness against cyber threats

Under a generous patronage of the National Security Adviser, Commander of the Royal Guard, Secretary -General of the Supreme Defense Council, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the activities of the Cyber ​​Shield 2025, which is held under the title “The supply chains attacks”, started yesterday, with wide participation from various government agencies and vital and private sectors, in the framework of the continuous national efforts to enhance the defensive capabilities in the cyberspace, and raise the level Preparation and coordination between the concerned authorities in the face of cyber challenges and threats.

The exercise, organized by the National Center for Cyber ​​Security from 26 to August 2025, aims to simulate a realistic scenario of an advanced cyber attack, which contributes to measuring the readiness and response of the participating authorities to deal with accidents, and evaluate the efficiency of coordination among them, as well as strengthening related technical and defense procedures.

Maryam Al -Jalahmah, that the participation of the health sector in the Cyber ​​Shield 2025 exercise is extremely important, due to its association with the protection of electronic systems and medical applications on which the daily work progress depends, explaining that any loophole in these systems may affect the health system completely including patient files and information.

She pointed out that the training that the participants have during the exercise is an opportunity to identify the nature of cyber attacks and how to reduce their damages and deal with them efficiently, expressing her thanks to the National Center for Cyber ​​Security for this leading national initiative. The Assistant Secretary -General of the Higher Education Council d. Farzana Al -Maraghi, that the participation of the General Secretariat in the exercise comes through five employees from those concerned with managing databases and communications technologies, indicating that the exercise earns practical experiences to deal with supply chains attacks, whether at the administrative, technical or even media level.

She pointed out that the national project launched by the National Cyber ​​Security Center represents a qualitative addition that contributes to raising the readiness of various governmental and private institutions to address such threats.

The participant from the General Administration of Sunni Endowments, Abdul Rahman Qaidi, stated that the applied workshops accompanying the exercise are enhancing the capabilities of employees to face cyber crises in a practical way, explaining that the participants were divided into groups that take over technical and administrative tasks in an integrated manner in a way that ensures the speed of containing challenges and reducing possible damage.

He stressed that the current exercise provides a real opportunity to deal with a collective cyclical attack collectively, in order to enhance the concept of coordination and integration between the various teams.
