Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, chaired the meeting of the General Assembly of the Egyptian Petrochemical Company for the fiscal year 2024/2025, where he stressed the important role of the company in supporting the national economy through its factories in Alexandria, which contributes to maximizing the added value and providing the needs of the local market from the basic materials for many industries and exporting abroad.
The minister indicated during the association, which was attended by Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy through the video, that the company has achieved distinguished results with the efforts of workers, and it is expected that a greater qualitative shift in performance and results will be witnessed with the exploitation of the full productive energies available in the company, in a way that opens broad horizons to maximize the economic return.
The revenues of the Egyptian petrochemical company
The chemist Ahmed Mouraba, President of the Egyptian Petrochemical Company, reviewed the results of the fiscal year 2024/2025, noting that the company’s revenues amounted to 5.6 billion pounds, which included the revenue of the exports of polyvinyl chloride and caustic soda with a value of $ 25 million during the year to the markets of Brazil, Turkey, India, Spain, France, Italy, Cyprus, Morocco and Romania.
He stressed that the company has completed a set of development programs, including a project in the PVC production factory to raise the production capacity from 80 thousand tons to 100 thousand tons annually from the product that is included in industries such as pipes, construction, construction, electrical cables, etc., and the company continues to implement the Caquet soda concentration unit project with a design capacity of 50% of the current unit in order to increase production.
He added that the productive plan of the PVC product was achieved with a quantity of 65 thousand tons and caustic soda with a quantity of 55 thousand tons.
