Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel -Sadiq, President of Cairo University, conducted an inspection tour of the university city of students in the between the Sarayat area, which included buildings 7,9,11 to follow up the implementation of comprehensive maintenance work in it, and to ensure the extent of application of safety and security standards in all residence rooms, in order to ensure the provision of a suitable and safe environment for students during their stay.
The President of the University’s tour comes within the framework of attention and follow -up to prepare and ready university cities to be a suitable place for subsistence, residence and activities, and in light of the university’s strategy to meet students’ needs and enhance their academic experience.
During his inspection tour, the President of the University was accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Ragab, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Abdel Hadi Al -Awadi, Advisor to the President of the University for University Cities and Student Activities, Dr. Mohamed Mansour Haiba, Media Adviser to the President of the University, W. Mahmoud Ayyad, Director General of University Cities, W. Hussein Helmy, Director of Student City, and a group of city officials and engineering administration.
During the tour, the President of the University discussed the implementation authorities in all works, stressing the commitment to the highest quality and safety standards, and directed to accelerate the pace of work, so that the buildings are ready to receive students at the beginning of the school year.
Maintenance work includes paint, interfaces, entrances and corridors, room paints, full renovation of floors, toilets renewal, lighting systems, renovation of study halls, and window installation, and the President of Cairo University also loses the ongoing work in the city gardens to improve their general appearance.
Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel -Sadiq stressed the keenness of the Cairo University administration to improve the conditions of university cities and put them on top of the priorities in order to provide the best care for students and to accommodate them in places worthy of them, while providing all means of safety and comfort during their stay, which reduces their feeling of alienation, and guarantees families to check on their children, given that the university cities are not just a place for housing but rather as a large house for their residents.
The President of Cairo University added that all the development, renewal and maintenance operations in the city’s city buildings come within the framework of the plan that was developed to develop cities, and operate some of the places that departed from the service, stressing the need for the speedy completion of maintenance operations in preparation for the start of housing students in conjunction with the start of the new academic year2025-2026.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Ragab, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, stressed that the university administration was keen to follow up continuously and provide full support to its university cities, and to follow up on the needs of the rooms and provide them, noting that university cities are keen to provide everything that serves students in all educational and social aspects, and provides an integrated life for its expatriate students for their families, and also provides them with the appropriate climate for the practice of activities even They can continue studying in an appropriate environment that motivates them to succeed and academic excellence.
It is worth noting that the university cities at Cairo University accommodate about 14 thousand male and female students, and include the city of students in the area between the companies, the city of care for the students in Bulaq, the city of the students in Giza, the city of housing the College of Nursing, and the city of students in Sheikh Zayed, which will receive students of Cairo National University, in addition to the presence of external houses that provide housing services for male and female students in various regions.
