The Ministry of Industry and Trade launched a package of initiatives in conjunction with the return season for schools, to continue supporting consumers from citizens and residents by providing a balanced commercial environment that combines quality and appropriate prices, in order to enhance efforts to sustain the quality of services provided to society.
The Ministry’s Consumer Protection Department also launched the “Consumer Friend” initiative in its version designated for this season, to be an open platform for commercial stores wishing to contribute societal by providing qualitative discounts on a wide range of commodities associated with the school season, including stationery, bags, school uniforms, electronic devices, printers and Internet devices, study furniture, food preparation and ironing tools, glasses, glass food products, school products, and school products, And vehicles.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that the initiative extends until November 2025, and constitutes an opportunity for merchants to highlight their role in supporting society, reflecting the mutual trust between the ministry and the commercial sector, and stimulates appropriate offers for Bahraini and resident families.
It also indicated that the inspection department is implementing a comprehensive regulatory plan that covers all governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and focuses on ensuring the quality of goods and their compatibility with specifications, and following up prices in a way that enhances fair competitiveness, in addition to ensuring the diversity of products and their availability to meet the various needs of the school season.
The ministry emphasized that the return season for schools represents an important community station and an opportunity to consolidate the partnership between the public and private sectors to serve consumers, stressing its pride in the awareness of the Bahraini family and the commitment of the commercial sector, and that joint cooperation is enough to provide an easy academic season and a promising start for students.
