The Minister of State for Military Production discusses with the Bulgarian Ambassador in Cairo ways to enhance joint cooperation

Engineer Mohamed Salah El Din Mustafa, Minister of State for Military Production, received Diane Katratchif, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Cairo, to discuss ways to enhance the aspects of joint cooperation between the two sides in various manufacturing fields.

This came at the headquarters of the Ministry of Military Production in the government district in the new administrative capital.

Minister Mohamed Salah started the meeting by welcoming the Bulgarian Ambassador and the accompanying delegation, explaining that this meeting comes from the standpoint of both sides of the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership in various fields, which belong to the joint benefit on both parties, where the basic role of the ministry, which is to meet the demands and needs of the armed forces and the police from ammunition, weapons and equipment, is also used to exploit the surplus of productive capacities to manufacture products Various civilization and contributing to the implementation of national and development projects in the country.

The minister pointed to the Ministry’s interest in taking advantage of the Bulgarian experiences in many fields, stressing that the Ministry of Military Production is always keen to cooperate with various international companies in the field of transferring and localizing modern technologies in various fields of manufacturing in Egypt, in light of the continuous work that the Ministry of Military Production exerts; In line with the general orientation of the state and in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to achieve its policies aimed at developing and adapting the available industrial, technical and technological capabilities; In order to support sustainable development strategies by relying on local manufacturing capabilities in Egyptian hands and on the highest international quality standards, stressing that Egypt is a promising market to attract international companies that can participate in the manufacture of their products in military production companies, and export these products to the countries of the region and the African continent by taking advantage of the strategic geographical location that Egypt enjoys.

For his part, Diane Katratchif, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Cairo, stressed that the relations between the two sides are characterized by diversity since ancient times, and have continued to develop in recent years at various levels, in addition to the existence of mutual understanding regarding the need to push bilateral relations forward in the various industrial and economic fields, adding that there are important opportunities to enhance military and civil cooperation between the two sides; Especially since the two countries have significant economic and manufacturing capabilities.

Katratchif expressed his aspiration for this meeting an important role in opening new prospects for investment and cooperation between military production companies, which represents a unique industrial model, and companies operating in similar fields in Bulgaria, praising the remarkable activity of the Ministry of Military Production in supporting national and development projects in Egypt, and the interest of the Egyptian state in providing the climate supporting investment and attracting more investments of international companies.

At the end of the meeting, the talks touched on the two sides about the Ministry of Military Production’s willingness to the fourth edition of the International Defense and Military Industries Exhibition “EDEX 2025”, which will be held in Egypt from 1 to 4 December 2025, and aspiring to the participation of many Bulgarian companies with this version of the exhibition, and the Bulgarian Ambassador submitted an invitation to the Minister “Mohamed Salah” to participate in the International Exhibition of Equipment and Defense Services Hemus-2026, whose activities will be held in Bluefdev, Bulgaria in 2026.
