The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture and the Chairman of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities inspects the progress of work in the project to restore the historic building for municipalities, Manama.

Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, and Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, made an inspection visit to the project to restore the historical building for municipalities -Al -Manama, in order to see the work progress and stages of completion, as the progress rate in the project exceeded 60%.

During the visit, Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, stressed that the project to restore the historical building for municipal affairs -Manama embodies the pride of the Kingdom of Bahrain with its civilizational legacy and the history of municipal work that extends for more than a hundred years, since the start of the leading municipal experience in Manama in 1919, as the first municipality at the level of the countries of the Cooperation Council of the Arab Gulf States.

The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture pointed to the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, may God protect him, to preserve the historical nature and cultural identity of the building, which is one of the evidences of the municipal work process in the Kingdom, indicating that the restoration of the building according to the highest standards of urban preservation represents an investment in the national memory, and in order to preserve a prominent landmark that reflects the leading position of the Kingdom regionally and Arably in the field of municipal work.

He pointed out that coordination continues with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities to enhance the preservation of cultural and historical details of this important building, in a way that contributes to preserving historical monuments and integrating them into sustainable development plans.

For his part, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, stressed the importance of the project to restore the historical building for municipal affairs -Al -Manama, which is a documentation of the municipal work march that extends for more than a hundred years in the Kingdom of Bahrain, stressing that highlighting the original features of the building will contribute to supporting efforts to document and preserve the civilizational and urban memory of the historical sleep that the authority seeks to register on the World Heritage List UNESCO.

The Chairman of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities praised the fruitful coordination between the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, which enhances the implementation of more urban projects for cultural infrastructure in the Kingdom.
