He explained that tightening penalties for the Traffic Law would contribute to controlling the behavior of road users and deterring violators, and then reducing dangerous traffic behaviors that lead to severe accidents, explaining that modernizing legislative systems related to traffic and tightening them to control traffic and adhere to the law during the use of the public road, is a continuous process to keep pace with the developments of traffic and the traffic safety system, in a way that contributes to building and consolidating a traffic culture, preserving Spirits and conscience of property.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Interior had taken strict legal measures within the framework of the Traffic Law and its executive regulations in a way that contributes to protecting lives, property and law enforcement, pointing to the formation of a work team in the ministry to study the traffic law and setting the draft amendments in coordination with the relevant authorities and committees.
At the end of his statement, the Minister of Interior praised the efforts made by the General Traffic Department through field control and intensifying awareness campaigns to enhance traffic safety on the roads.
