Ambassador Khaled Youssef Al -Jalahmah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance cooperation and partnership relations with the United Nations, in the context of the steadfast commitment to international principles aimed at consolidating international peace and security, preserving human rights, protecting the environment, and accelerating the achievement of sustainable development goals, in light of the high directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God preserve him and his pastors, and with the follow -up. The government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him.
This came during a meeting of the Coordination and Follow -up Committee and the meeting of the Joint Steering Committee for Cooperation between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the agencies of the United Nations, headed by Ambassador Khaled Youssef Al -Jalahma, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, and Mr. Khaled Abdel Salam Al -Maqd, the resident coordinator of the United Nations to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and in the presence of representatives of ministries, government agencies, national institutions and international agencies, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and through the visual electronic communication technology.
During the two meetings, ways to implement the framework of the strategic partnership for sustainable development between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations agencies for the period 2025-2029, which was signed in December 2024, and based on strategic priorities that include the promotion of social justice and well -being, sustainable economic transformation, governance for human rights, and elastic environmental management.
For his part, the residing coordinator of the United Nations to the Kingdom of Bahrain praised the level of cooperation between the two sides, and the progress achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the areas of sustainable development, stressing the importance of the partnership in supporting national efforts and promoting international principles.
In conclusion, the United Nations Resident Coordinator to the Kingdom of Bahrain submitted to the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs the annual report of the United Nations Qatari team for the year 2024.
