From this standpoint, we find the relentless pursuit of the Kingdom of Bahrain in developing and modernizing the infrastructure of regular (traditional) cars, passing through hybrid cars, as well as recently for electric cars, while import movement as well as sales witnessed remarkable growth in the Kingdom, especially after controlling the Corona Festival (Kofid 19), which had a great impact on the recovery of import and sale, especially with the enhancement of economic cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain And the countries of the world, where countries such as Japan, China, South Korea, the United States of America, India, the United Kingdom and Thailand are ranked as among the highest countries in terms of the export of cars in their various models of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

And if the auto sector is witnessing a technology revolution worldwide, the Kingdom of Bahrain is always a forerunner in this field, to keep pace with technological development at the international level, as according to what was published in official government sites, and as part of its continuous commitment to innovation and smart mobility, the Kingdom of Bahrain is working to study the integration of self -driving vehicles (AVS) in its transportation system. This initiative comes in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s vision of digital transformation.

Self -driving vehicles, use advanced techniques such as artificial intelligence (AI), sensors, cameras, and data processing in the actual time to move without the need for direct human intervention, and these vehicles are a revolution in the way of transporting people and goods, providing safer, efficient and environmentally friendly transport options.

In Bahrain, many experimental programs and research initiatives are explored in cooperation with many government agencies, academic institutions, and partners from the private sector to test and evaluate the feasibility of spreading self -driving vehicles in controlled environments. These efforts aim to ensure the readiness of infrastructure, legislation, and public awareness.

The application of self -driving vehicles is in line with the Bahrain’s strategy for smart cities and smart transportation systems, which helps to reduce traffic congestion, reduce accidents, and enhance transportation for all, including the elderly and people with determination.

Official and circulating statistics indicate that Bahrain has recorded during the past years until before 2025, sales ranging from 29 thousand cars to 36 thousand cars, while the import movement reached between 28 thousand cars to about 47 thousand cars, in reference to the increasing demand for import and sales at the same time, which is reflected in its impact on the high demand for purchase, especially with the facilities provided in this vital and strategic sector.

On the global level, according to the “Vegoual Capital” website, a group of countries is highlighted as it is the highest and most productive and exported, for cars globally, including, China, Japan, South Korea, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Germany, Thailand, Brazil, Mexico, India and Spain, where car production globally reached about 96 million units.

In this regard, where the rapid shift towards self -driving techniques has witnessed, the global market has witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of models and brands for cars, where international reports and statistics indicate that the number of models and brands that focus on self -driving technologies reached about 120 brands, what analysts and automotive experts in the world have classified as an indication of companies’ response to modern technological innovations, in addition to seeking to use electrical brands with a goal Meet the criteria for environmental efficiency and interest in reducing carbon emissions in global markets.
