Abdel -Ati: Important progress in the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza
Communications dealt with the developments of the regional situation, foremost of which is the situation in Gaza, where Minister Abdel -Ati reviewed the efforts of the intense mediation made by Egypt in cooperation with Qatar and the United States to reach a ceasefire, the introduction of humanitarian aid, and the release of a number of hostages and prisoners, indicating an important progress made in this regard and that it was reflected in the recent consultations that were made in Cairo with the Palestinian delegation, which focused on The proposal presented by the American Special Envoy of the Middle East Steve Witkeov, which was approved by Hamas.
He stressed that the ball is now in the Israel stadium, pointing to the need to pressure it to agree to the proposal in a way that contributes to alleviating the repercussions of the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also dealt with the ongoing preparations to host the International Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction as soon as a ceasefire agreement was reached.
For their part, officials expressed their appreciation for the pivotal role of Egypt in cooperation with Qatar and the United States for the ceasefire, stressing their full support for Egypt’s efforts and role in supporting security and stability in the region.
