A number of the Lebanese army members were killed and others were injured today, Saturday, as a result of the explosion of ammunition from the remnants of the Israeli war, during a military patrol with a dismantling operation in the town of Majdalzon, in southern Lebanon.
According to the initial outcome, the explosion resulted in the death of five members of the army, who was killed and wounded, while ambulances and civil defense teams immediately rushed to the site of the accident, amid tight security.
Against the background of the incident, the President of the Lebanese Republic, Joseph Aoun, made a phone call to the army commander, General Rudolph Haykal, and briefed him on the circumstances of the incident.
