The Egyptian Drug Authority confirmed that liquid pharmaceutical doses are one of the most prominent forms of drugs used daily, due to its ease of use and efficiency in absorption.
Features and uses of liquid pharmaceutical doses
The authority explained, in an awareness publication issued by it, that liquid doses are drugs that contain the active substance in a dissolved or suspended form, which makes them more suitable for many patients ’categories, especially children and the elderly, who may face difficulty in swallowing tablets or capsules.
The authority added that one of the most important forms of the use of liquid doses:
- Take orally, as in medications that come in the form of a drink.
- Topical use, such as solutions and liquid ointments used on the skin directly.
- EGP, which is used in cases that requires the high bloodstream to reach the bloodstream to achieve an immediate effect.
The authority pointed out that liquid doses are characterized by its high ability to absorb rapidly inside the body, which contributes to achieving faster and more effective treatment results, in addition to the ease of controlling the dose according to the patient’s treatment, which is one of the important advantages compared to other pharmaceutical forms.
The authority concluded its clarification by emphasizing the importance of adhering to the instructions of the doctor or pharmacist when using this type of medicine, to ensure the maximum therapeutic benefit, and to reduce any possible side effects.
This awareness comes within the continuous efforts of the Egyptian Drug Authority to enhance the pharmaceutical culture of citizens, and to raise their awareness of the importance of knowing the various forms of medicines and the advantages of each of them.
