Within the framework of the Arab Tax Experts Union to shed light on the importance of the role of environmental taxes in enhancing and effective the green economy and reducing the negative effects of facing the challenges facing the Arab world and working to highlight new tax policies to protect the environment and increase the demand for green investment to achieve the goals of environmental protection and sustainable development in the Arab world, the Arab Tax Experts Union organizes a workshop under the title: (environmental taxes and a shift to the green economy to achieve Sustainable development in the Arab countries) on Saturday, August 30th, at the headquarters of the Higher Finance and Capital Institute at the University of Sousse at the Tunisian Republic.
Where Dr. Issa Al -Sharif, Secretary -General of the Federation, stressed that the phenomenon of climate change is no longer a long -standing threat but a tangible and inevitable reality and will reshape the future of the whole planet and especially the Arab world from the East to Morocco, where it constitutes a threat to human health and increases the diseases related to the degree of temperature and pollutants, so the keenness of the Arab Tax Experts was to shed light on the importance of the role of environmental taxes in promoting and effective the effect of the green economy and reducing negative effects To face the challenges facing the Arab world and work to highlight new tax policies to protect the environment and increase the demand for green investment to achieve the goals of environmental protection and sustainable development in the Arab world.
Dr. Issa Al -Sharif explained that the workshop includes several axes: the phenomenon of climate change, the importance of the transformation of the green economy, sustainable development, and environmental taxes as financial economic dimensions for the transformation of the green economy and the obstacles and challenges of applying environmental taxes in the Arab countries.
Al -Sharif stressed that the workshop will witness the participation of a group of experts, led by Dr. Hossam Bouzakro, Director of the Higher Institute for Financial and Gibbeta in Sousse in the State of Tunisia, Professor Dr. Ramadan Siddiq Mohamed, Advisor to the Egyptian Finance Minister for Policy and Legislative Legislation and the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arab Tax Experts and Professor Dr. Noureddine Al -Hajjaji, Professor of Engineering for the analysis of operations thermally and environmentally at Lauren University The carbon and water fingerprint of international organizations, the United Nations Development Nations Program, Ambassador Mustafa Al -Sherbiny, the international expert in nourishing and evaluating the climate risk of the Alexo Organization, Ambassador of the European Climate Charter at the European Commission, ESG and Professor Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the judge, professor of biology and environmental health at the Faculty of Feeding at Helwan University The Arab African Foundation for the Green Transformation and Coordination and Professor Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud Abdel-Qader, former head of the Egyptian Tax Authority, ASCO International Tax Adviser, the United Nations and the German agency for economic cooperation Mohsen Al -Salami is a tax advisor and head of the Tunisian Association for the Circular Government in Tunisia.
Dr. Abdul -Jabbar Ahmed Al -Tayeb, a member of the Board of Directors of the Tax Experts Union, professor of political economics and public finance at the University of Bahrain, will participate in the Kingdom of Bahrain, to present a paper on the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to shift towards the green economy.
