At the conclusion of the work of its second edition, the media creativity summit for Arab youth, at the conclusion of the work of its second edition, in the new city of El Alamein, in the Arab Republic of Egypt, adopted an initiative for the UAE Journalists Association, under the slogan (#Teblik_ without comment), aimed at stopping the electronic disputes and abuse, and not being drawn behind bullying campaigns and electronic committees.
The owner of the idea of the initiative, the head of the National Media Office, the Chairman of the Board of the Emirates Media Council, Abdullah Al Hamid, said that the initiative encourages users to face any abuse via social media with “Block” only, without entering into debates or feeding negative content, after its Emirati success before it is circulated in the Arab world.
The campaign received interaction by ministers, officials, media professionals, artists, academics, and an audience of social media platforms from various countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf states, as well as the children of other Arab countries, as the volume of the interaction reached more than 90 million interaction, pointing out that the campaign succeeded in only four days in achieving a decline in the volume of abusive content by more than 95%, while positive content increased by more than 85 percent.
Social media has a strong presence and a huge impact on many areas and sectors, and millions of Gulf Cooperation Council followed, which requires vigilance and awareness to spread the correct image, and provide objective content based on the facts, information and correct data, and avoiding rumors, misleading campaigns and suspicious agendas that seek to destroy societies and sabotage relations between countries and peoples.
This campaign is a model in increasing awareness and enhancing society’s understanding of the nature of electronic threats, and how to deal with them, in addition to providing users with knowledge and tools necessary to discover and protect these attacks, and enhance safe behavior on social media with best practices and preventive measures.
The content makers will encourage respect for the directions of Gulf and Arab societies and the policy of states at the internal and international levels, cultural and cultural heritage, national identity and prevailing values in society, as it motivates users to avoid the publication or circulation of what offends national unity and social cohesion, and to stay away from incitement to violence and hatred, not to stir up hatred and spread the spirit of discord in society, not to publish, broadcast or circulate rumors and news False and misleading.
