With the high temperatures during the summer, the public beaches in Bahrain turned into a major destination for families and individuals looking for entertainment and changing the atmosphere before returning to schools.

Despite the intensity of moisture and heat, many are keen to go to these beaches in the afternoon hours, as the only outlet available in front of them, especially in light of the fully qualified beaches to receive visitors.

During a field tour by “Al -Watan”, a number of pioneers expressed their preference for public beaches over the private, stressing that the atmosphere in public places is more natural, and allows freedom without additional restrictions or expenses, while beaches are related to fees and requirements.

On the other hand, many expressed their observations on the lack of facilities and services in public beaches, as they pointed to the limited toilets, lack of umbrellas and chairs for sitting, as well as poor lighting at night and the need to better monitor to avoid unethical behaviors.

They also stressed the need to improve health facilities and provide organized entertainment spaces, citing successful experiments, such as some beaches that provide additional services for a symbolic fee.

Some participants suggested imposing simple fees on the entry of public beaches, so that they contribute to organizing and developing their services, provided that they are suitable for citizens and their families, with the possibility of adopting a different system for foreign visitors as is the case in other countries.

They also called on the concerned authorities to pay attention to the surrounding infrastructure, including road maintenance, increase lighting and organize parking.

Despite the existing observations, the general beaches remain the most popular and popular destination for Bahraini families in the summer, while demands continue to develop them to keep pace with the needs of the pioneers, and become an integrated tourist outlet befitting all visitors.
