Qualcomm announced the first early appearance of its upcoming pioneering processor Snapdragon 8 on the Geekbench test platform more than a month before the official launch.
This performance came from the Samsung device with the SM-S947U code, and it is believed that it is the experimental version of the Galaxy S26 Edge, indicating that the processor used is a customized version of Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for Galaxy phones.
Performance results in Geekbench
In the Geekbench 6.4, the processor scored a strong performance as it achieved 3393 points in the one -core test, and 11515 points in the multi -core test, and this represents an improvement of about 9% in the performance of a single core compared to the former Snapdragon 8 Elite processor that scored 3125 points per core and 9932 in multiple cores.
It has not yet reached the maximum speed
The test showed that the basic processing unit was working at a speed of up to 4.0 GHz only, while the maximum speed of the processor is 4.74 GHz, and this means that there is more performance that has not been used yet, which is common in devices before the official release.
Outing over Exynos 2600 processor
The processor maintains 6+2 core design where the six energy -saving nuclei operates at a speed of 3.63 GHz, and supports the new SME instructions collection that helps improve artificial intelligence and machine learning.
It should be noted that the device used in the test contains 12 GB of random memory and works with Android 16 with the Samsung UI 8.0 interface in its early copy.
The comparison between Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and Exynos 2600 shows a significant superiority of the first, although the processor has not yet worked its capacity, as Exynos 2600 scored 2155 points per core and 7788 in multiple cores.
The date of the official announcement
Qualcomm is expected to officially unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor during the Snapdragon Summit Conference on September 23, 2025.
