The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has condemned in the strongest terms the approval of the Israeli occupation authorities to build settlements in the vicinity of the occupied city of Jerusalem.
In a statement to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, the Kingdom condemned the statements of the Israeli Foreign Minister to prevent the establishment of the Palestinian state, as a violation of international law, the unusual right of the Palestinian people in self -determination and the embodiment of its sovereign state, and the relevant Security Council resolutions, foremost of which is Security Council Resolution 2234 (2016), which demands Israel to stop settlement in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the illegitimacy of the establishment of Israel for settlements in the occupied land for a year 1967 AD, and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which affirmed the invalidity of the inclusion of the occupied Palestinian territories and the need to end the Israeli occupation.
The continued illegal expansion policies of the Israeli government
Saudi Arabia emphasized that these decisions and statements are the continuation of the illegal expansionist policies of this Israeli government and its obstruction of the peace option and the serious threat to the possibility of a two -state solution, which requires the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, provide protection for the Palestinian people and meet their legitimate rights, including recognition of the Palestinian state, and obligating Israel to stop its aggression against Gaza, its illegal violations in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and stop Crimes against the Palestinian people, especially those who rise to genocide and hold their perpetrators accountable.
The Kingdom renewed its categorical rejection of Israeli policies based on settlement, forced displacement and the deprivation of the Palestinian people of exercising their legitimate rights, calling on the international community, especially permanent members of the Security Council, to take immediate measures to compel the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their crimes against the Palestinian people and the occupied Palestinian land and comply with international decisions and international law.
