Sarah Bouhaji: Continuing the development of national cadres skills is an essential pillar of sustainable growth in the tourism sector

Mrs. Sarah Ahmed Bouhji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, confirmed that the authority puts investment in the human element at the center of its priorities, and that the capacity building and skills development is the basic pillar of any sustainable growth and a qualitative transformation in the tourism sector, which comes in line with the aspirations of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the comprehensive development march goals led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect him, may God protect him, The directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him.

This came during a dialogue meeting that brought together the CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and a group of young people participating in the activities of the third edition of the “Future bet” program, which is organized by the Bahrain Institute for Political Development. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ibtisam Al -Dalal is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development, Mrs. Iman Faisal Janahi, CEO, and a number of officials from the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and the Bahrain Institute for Political Development.

During her participation, Mrs. Bouhaji reviewed the role of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority in stimulating domestic and external tourism and developing the national economy, and highlighted the authority’s strategies in developing the infrastructure of the tourism sector and organizing major events and exhibitions. She discussed the effective contributions of the tourism sector in providing promising job and investment opportunities and support for entrepreneurship.

She pointed to the importance of involving young people in advancing the growth of the tourism sector and the necessity of awareness of the fruitful future opportunities available in this sector, explaining that the authority’s vision and future plans are integrating with Bahrain’s economic vision 2030.

She said that the tourism sector is a major engine for comprehensive development, as it creates qualitative opportunities for citizens in multiple fields, and attracts local and foreign investments, which supports a wide system that includes hospitality sectors, transportation, retail trade, food and drink, and services related to creative industries, and others.

In the context of her speech, Mrs. Bouhaji touched on the targets of the tourism strategy 2022-2026, which was launched as a road map that crystallizes around four goals, which is to highlight the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a global tourism center, raise the contribution of tourism to the local product, increase the targeted markets, and diversify the tourism product. She added that the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority is working to manage programs and tourism initiatives, organize local and international events, and promote the Kingdom as a global tourist destination.

It is noteworthy that the “The Request of the Future” program aims to continue to enable the participants and make them aware of the comprehensive development process that embodies the lofty visions of His Majesty the King of the country, may God protect him and his sponsors and the constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as educating them in everything related to the sustainable development goals and its relationship to Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, in addition to supporting them with the necessary skills and knowledge, training them in teamwork and providing initiatives and proposals Development and creative that contributes to the renaissance and raising of the country, as well as developing their leadership skills, enhancing the culture of dialogue, exchanging opinion and qualifying them to engage in national action.

The third version of the program comes as an extension of the success achieved by the previous two versions. The program includes a series of dialogue meetings that bring together His Excellency and Excellency Ministers and senior officials in the country, along with a group of participating youth, to discuss topics of concern to the present and future of the country.
