Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, Chairman of the Bahraini Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Authority for Sports, witnessed the start of the first edition of the Asia Youth Championship for mixed fighting arts, organized by the Bahraini Federation of Mixed Martial Arts under the supervision of the Asian Federation of mixed fighting arts with the participation of 19 national teams Asian continent.
The championship witnessed the presence of His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Authority for Sports, His Excellency Mr. Fares Mustafa Al -Kohaji, Secretary -General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Ms. Dana Muzaffar, Executive Vice President of the General Authority for Sports, and Mr. Karath Brown, President of the International Federation of Mixed Fighting Arts, in addition to Mr. Mohamed Qambar, President of the Bahraini Federation of Mixed Mixed Martial Arts.
On its first day, the championship was known as a distinctive atmosphere that reflected the great enthusiasm of the players and the players, as they competed for the championship rug with a high spirit, amid a professional organization that embodies the advanced capabilities and high -level regulatory experiences that the Kingdom of Bahrain has in the hosting of continental and international championships.
On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa stressed that the launch of the Asian Youth Championship for Mixed Martial Arts in its first edition on the land of the Kingdom of Bahrain represents a new historical station in the march of developing this sport at the level of the Asian continent, noting that the organization of this first version comes as a translation of the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect him and his sponsorship in making the Kingdom of Bahrain a major destination to embrace sports events World.
His Highness said: “We are proud of the Kingdom of Bahrain to be the starting point of the first edition of this Asian championship for youth, which represents an important addition to the mixed martial arts march, as it opens the way for emerging generations to gain experience and develop their skills by competition in a professional atmosphere, and at the same time highlights the size of the interest that the Kingdom of Bahrain pays for sports and youth.”
His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Muhammad Al Khalifa added: “What we are witnessing from an integrated organization and a wide participation of the teams reflects the advanced position that the Kingdom has reached in terms of hosting the major championships. This success would not have been achieved without the great support that Bahraini sport enjoys from the wise leadership, and what it pays for youth as they are the main pillar of building the future.”
His Highness concluded his speech, saying: “We are confident that this tournament will be an ideal platform for discovering a new generation of talented fighters who will carry the banner of mixed Asian and global combat arts, and it will also contribute to the consolidation of Bahrain as a regional and international combat sports center.”
