The Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, Ahmed Al -Salloum, raised the highest verses of congratulations and blessings to the head of the editorial board of the Al -Ayyam newspaper, Issa Al -Shayji, on the occasion of his victory at the chairmanship of the Bahraini Journalists Association for the second time in a row, wishing him success in continuing his efforts to serve the march of the Bahraini press, and Al -Salloum also blessed the winners of the new board of directors, praising the confidence of the members of the General Assembly. He pointed out that the Bahraini press plays important and influential roles in the national scene, as it is a key partner in development, a major tributary of societal awareness, a platform to transfer the concerns and issues of citizens with responsibility and professionalism, as well as its role in highlighting national achievements, consolidating the principles of national unity, and defending the higher issues of the country.
Al -Salloum emphasized the prominent position of the Bahraini Journalists Association, as it is one of the pillars of media work in the Kingdom, and the important role it plays in strengthening its professional and national mission, noting that the press march in the Kingdom of Bahrain is witnessing a great development and spacious spaces of responsible freedom, thanks to the comprehensive reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, the country of great He assumed the esteemed government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister.
He explained that the Association of Journalists has been able for twenty -five years since its foundation, to achieve many qualitative achievements, whether at the level of support and development of the capabilities of Bahraini journalists, or in terms of strengthening the national press site in regional and international forums, stressing that these achievements would not have been achieved without successive efforts from the generations of journalists who held them responsible for serving the profession and upgrading it.
The head of the Finance and Economic Committee stressed that the legislative authority, led by the House of Representatives, supports the press body with all its components, and attaches great attention to enabling the press and enhancing its independence and professionalism, in recognition of the great role played by the media in serving the paths of development and consolidating the democratic approach, adding that the House of Representatives will remain a supportive support for the Association of Journalists and all media institutions, in a way that enhances its national contributions.
He concluded by emphasizing his pride in the giving and dedication of Bahraini journalists in their daily work, and the sincere efforts they provide in the service of society and the homeland, stressing that the next stage will be full of more successes for the Bahraini press thanks to the solidarity between the various official and private institutions, and the role of the Journalists Association in leading the journalistic work towards broader prospects of excellence.
