A number of sailors in Bahrain expressed their understanding of the new procedures related to the safety of refueling, which has come into effect recently, stressing the importance of enhancing safety and preserving lives and property, but they pointed out the need to take into account some practical aspects in the application, in a way that ensures the continuity of work smoothly.
The new instructions included defining a ceiling for refueling, as well as the mandatory use of red -interactive packages for storage, with the requirement to fill it after lowering it on the ground individually in succession, and preventing its mobilization while it is on the surface of the vehicle or in the “Baik” box, as part of procedures aimed at raising the level of safety in the fuel supply sites.
The sailors expressed their welcoming in principle of any steps that contribute to enhancing safety standards, especially in the crowded sites that are witnessing an active movement, indicating their keenness to fully cooperate with the relevant authorities. At the same time, they emphasized that some details of the technical application, especially with regard to the mechanism of supplying and the permissible fuel quantities, have caused field challenges that hinder the daily workflow.
A number of sailors met by Al -Watan, that the start of the implementation of the procedures without a preliminary period or awareness campaigns led to practical difficulties, especially with the increasing need for fuel during the current hunting season, stressing that the gradual application would have contributed to facilitating adaptation to the new instructions.
They emphasized that their demand does not contradict the principle of safety, but rather is based on the desire to develop the maritime work environment in a safe and organized manner, demanding a review of the mechanism of supply, and providing storage packages commensurate with the nature of their work, in addition to determining the ceiling of the permitted quantity in a way that takes into account the size of the boats and long hunting periods.
He called on the sailors to allocate points that are provided within the maritime assumption or provide mobile disguise at specific times, to meet their needs in an organized and safe manner. On the other hand, the concerned authorities confirmed that they are open to the proposed solutions, in a way that balances safety and continuity requirements
They concluded with the appeal of the competent authorities to interact with these demands positively, and work to provide possible facilities that ensure the continuation of maritime activity without complications, in a way that preserves public safety, and contributes to the sustainability of the work of the fishermen.
