Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania, USA, revealed an innovative technology called “WirelessAP”, allowing the use of regular car radars as a way to eavesdrop on phone calls.
The researchers pointed out that the technology depends on monitoring the very accurate vibrations issued by the smartphone while making calls, using radars similar to those supplied in self -driving cars, then converting these vibrations into texts written through artificial intelligence techniques.

Experts believe that the continued development of car radars and their small size, in addition to integrating them with artificial intelligence, may pave the way for in the future to convert them into advanced spy tools capable of eavesdropping away. On the other hand, specialists recommended the need to develop additional means of protection for phones, such as insulating layers or special jamming systems, to reduce the risk of such attacks.
