These days, the Kingdom of Bahrain witnesses the activities of the Cyber Shield 2025 under the title “The Supply Strike attacks”, which is organized by the National Cyber Security Center under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Adviser, Commander of the Royal Guard, Secretary -General of the Supreme Defense Council, which started on Tuesday, August 26, and extends until next Sunday, August 31, which is an event that is a qualitative step in A march to enhance national readiness to face complex digital challenges and threats.
The importance of this exercise comes from being an inclusive of various governmental and private agencies and vital sectors in the Kingdom, in which more than 560 specialists from the security, health, banking, transportation sectors, communications, energy, industry and education are participating in, which is a wide and important participation that reflects the growing awareness of the importance of cybersecurity, the first line of defense to protect the digital infrastructure of the Kingdom.
This event is greater than being a theoretical simulation, it includes internationally accredited practical exercises in a real test of the level of readiness and coordination between institutions, and a very important national step to ensure the continuity of vital services and trust in the digital system, and this type and level of exercises keeps pace with the latest global practices, and opens the way for more cooperation between the public and private sectors, in a way that enhances the sustainability of the digital protection system in the Kingdom, as well It comes consistent with the prominent progress made by the Kingdom of Bahrain on the international scene, as it came within the first and highest global group “first category – a pioneering model” in the GCI 2024, issued by the United Nations International Telecommunication Union.
The Kingdom has received its position in this advanced classification after obtaining a degree that is almost perfection in four of the five axes of the index, which reflects a firm national commitment to building a safe digital environment according to the highest international standards, and there is no doubt that this progress would not have been achieved without the strategic vision led by the National Center for Cyber Security, along with the distinguished Bahraini competencies of information technology managers and security managers Cyber and their teams in various public and private sector institutions. These cadres have proven that they are at a high level of experience and professionalism, which made them outperform their peers in the region, and put Bahrain in the ranks of the leading countries globally in this field.
Today, the Kingdom of Bahrain proves to the world that it is not satisfied with the course of technical developments, but also seeks to lead it through ambitious national strategies and advanced practices in protecting the cybersecurity, and the National Center for Cyber Security in Bahrain has proven by its leaders and its distinguished team, that it is a pivotal partner in consolidating the culture of cybersecurity and building specialized national capabilities, in a way that keeps pace with the best global practices, these efforts do not protect Institutions only, but also support the confidence of citizens, residents, investors and international partners in the solidity of the digital environment in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
