Mr. Ahmed Abdulaziz Al -Shamlan, Vice -President of the Nasser bin Hamad season for marine heritage sports, praised the great organizational success achieved by the eighth edition of the season after a month has passed since the launch of its activities, noting that the opening competitions witnessed record participation nearly 300 participants of different age and societal groups, which reflects the volume of demand for this event, which has become a prominent annual station on the agenda of marine sports.
Al -Shamlan explained that the swimming competition in the open waters and the “Al -Hir” competition to extract the oysters with its first two halves, which bore the name of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the second in the name of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, formed a successful start that reflected the high readiness and the distinguished organization that the Bahraini Committee for popular heritage sport since the first day.
He added that the season continues until the middle of next November, as it includes a varied program of events, including a competition to conceal the soul in two halves also at the end of this month, then the newly developed Al -Naham competition with the participation of brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries on September 19, as well as popular rowing races in different runs in September and October next, before the establishment of the inherited Shebl Swimming Competition, which is the swimming competition in open waters allocated to the creation, in addition to two halves of the competition Fishing (Al -Hadqa) in October and November, up to the closing day in November, which is witnessing the His Majesty King’s Cup of popular rowing boats, along with the march of the closing boats that will form a distinctive mass painting.
Al -Shamlan emphasized that success would not have been achieved had it not been for careful planning and fruitful cooperation between the various participating and supportive parties, stressing that this version embodies the concept of sustainability in organizing heritage and sports events in a manner befitting in the name and position of Bahrain.
He also indicated that the season is not limited to being a sporting event, but also represents a comprehensive national space that enhances the values of belonging and pride in the Bahraini identity, as it combines the past and the present in an upscale competitive atmosphere that reflects the originality of Bahraini society and its love for its heritage.
The Vice President of the season emphasized that the results and wide participation achieved so far constitutes a strong motivation to continue working until the closing day, looking forward to the closing scene in November to the extent of the momentum that accompanied the season’s activities since its inception.
