The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that the establishment of the Supreme Council for Women formed a qualitative shift in the march of national human rights and development achievements on the foundations of justice, equal opportunities and gender balance, within a legislative system, programs and modern policies within the framework of the national plan for the advancement of Bahraini women, the national human rights plan, and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, in line with international conventions, foremost of which is the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (Sido).
He expressed great appreciation for the pioneering role of the Supreme Council for Women headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, in enhancing the prestigious position of Bahraini women locally, regionally and internationally, through his initiatives and innovative projects that contributed to enriching political and democratic life, supporting economic and social development, within the framework of the partnership between the legislative and executive authorities, fruitful cooperation with ministries and bodies Government, civil society and the private sector.
He also praised the efforts of women’s cadres in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic and consular missions abroad, and the prominent leadership positions in the diplomatic corps and regional and international organizations, stressing his confidence in its pivotal role during the upcoming membership of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the UN Security Council for 2026-2027, and the Executive Council of the United Nations Women for the period 2026-2028, in a way that enhances the contributions of the Kingdom Bahrain as an active partner in establishing international peace and security, spreading the values of tolerance and coexistence, respect for human rights, and achieving the goals of sustainable development.
Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by His Majesty the Great King, and the support of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and with the follow -up of the Supreme Council for Women, continued to consolidate the position of Bahraini women and continue their achievements from empowerment to partnership and leadership, by launching the Princess Sabika Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa International Award to empower women in its third edition in cooperation with the United Nations Authority for Women, and consolidate Her presence in international forums as a pioneering national model and a basic partner in supporting security, peace and global prosperity.
