The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior affirmed its keenness to facilitate the procedures for granting various entry visas, noting that the new system of electronic visas through the “Kuwait Visa” platform aims to enhance Kuwait’s position as an attractive tourist destination for visitors, by speeding up procedures and simplifying conditions.

This came in the speech of Colonel Abdel Aziz Al -Kandari, Director of the Electronic Services Department of the General Administration of Residence Affairs, during a visual presentation he presented at the Government Communication Center, in which he explained the most prominent amendments that occurred to the visa system and the mechanism of work in it.
Four categories for tourist visa
Al -Kandari reviewed the four categories of the tourist visa, explaining that:

The first category includes 52 credit countries whose citizens can obtain a tourist visa without restrictions, provided that the passport is valid for more than six months from the date of entry.

The second category includes financially solid professionals from the residents of the Cooperation Council states, in addition to the residents of the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union (Schengen) countries, and the passport and residence for more than six months are also required.

The third category, which is under preparation, includes the rest of the countries of the world who prove their financial affinity through a bank account statement and a hotel reservation, while taking insurance value from the credit card that is recovered upon departure.

The fourth category is dedicated to international and local events and events, and its conditions are determined according to the nature of the event.
Colonel Al -Kandari pointed out that any resident can apply for family visits and to bring his family to Kuwait and stay with them, where the salary condition was canceled, and the relationship of kinship to include to the fourth and third degree, allowing the entire family to be brought.
Tourist visit visas are divided into one time, two or three months, with a validity of 30 days, or a multiple entry for a period of 3 months, 6 months or a year, provided that the period of residency does not exceed 30 days for each entry.
Family, commercial and governmental visas
Al -Kandari explained that family visas require proving the relationship of kinship with official documents translated into the Arabic language and approved, and is granted for two categories: one entry or multiple entry with the same conditions for the duration and residence. As for commercial visa, it is granted to people who are invited by Kuwaiti companies or institutions, which are either for one entry or multiple entry with the same controls. In the country without special requirements, with the same entry options and the duration applied to the rest of the categories.
