Over his work years, Khaled Kano contributed to expanding the group’s activity outside the borders of Bahrain, to include vital sectors such as trade, travel, shipping, real estate and logistical services, which strengthened the Kingdom’s presence on the map of international investments, and made the group a model in harmony between the ancient commercial heritage and openness to the requirements of the times.
National and institutional roles
The influence of the late was not limited to economic activity, but extended to national and institutional work; Where he held several positions, including the Presidency of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry in one of its sessions, and the membership of the Board of Directors of the Economic Development Board, as well as the Bahrain Central Foundation (the Central Bank currently). He also initiated the establishment of the Gulf Sugar Center for Sugar in partnership with the Harvard University of the University of the University of Harvard, to become the first specialized center in the Kingdom for diabetes treatment and research.
Social and charitable initiatives
The late was known for his continuous support for humanitarian and social initiatives, as he helped establish the Bahraini Family Companies Association, and contributed to the launch of the Saudi branch of the “Youth Presidents Organization”, as he chaired the Yusuf bin Ahmed Kano charitable committee that sponsored the financing of vital projects such as building mosques, schools and hospitals and supporting productive families. Also among his initiatives is the establishment of the Mubarak Kano Social Center in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, a project that won the Princess Sabika Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award to empower productive families.
Cultural and artistic fingerprints
Besides, he left a clear imprint in the fields of culture and arts; He occupied the editor -in -chief of “Kano Cultural Magazine”, and the chairmanship of the Board of Trustees of the Youssef bin Ahmed Kano Award, and issued a number of documentary books, including the book “Beit Kano .. a century of business for an Arab family company”, and the book “The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bahrain and the future challenges of the Cooperation Council Countries Chambers.” He was also a lover of plastic art, where he held several private exhibitions that reflected the creative side of his personality.
With the departure of Khaled Muhammad Kano, Bahrain is losing a prominent economic, social and cultural face, which has been for decades as one of the pillars of national development, and a symbol of giving rooted in the service of the country and society.
