Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attacked people who attacked the house of the Israeli army chief of staff Eyal Zamir, amid sharp differences between him and the government over the operations in Gaza, according to Hebrew media.
Netanyahu described the attackers of Zamir’s house as extremists, and said in comments on Thursday evening: The Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, was condemned by extremist protest activists.

Netanyahu added: The Israeli army, led by the Chief of Staff, is acting firmly and morals to defeat Hamas and restore all our hostages, and any attempt to harm it or its leaders must be condemned.
Netanyahu called on security to present the perpetrators of this work, which he described as heinous to the trial.
Last Monday, Channel 13 quoted Israeli sources that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is discussing a proposal to overcome the chief of staff Eyal Zamir after calling for a deal instead of proceeding with the Gaza City occupation plan.
The sources said that those close to Netanyahu are calling for the appointment of a leader higher than Zamir for refusing to occupy Gaza City.
The sources added that the proposal to overcome Zamir requires that a higher official than the chief of staff be appointed to serve as a higher chief of staff or an army leader because the current chief of staff is not offensive enough, and does not want to occupy Gaza City, as she put it.
