In a move described as unprecedented since the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel entered into force, Israel has announced the establishment of a new buffer zone in southern Lebanon, and has accurately set its location on maps and distributed it by drones. The map showed a shaded area in red, accompanied by strict warnings that prevent any civilian from approaching it, in what seemed to be an attempt to draw a new security reality on the southern border.
Camps above the satiety and strict warning
Thursday morning, Israeli drones flew over the town of Shebaa in southeast Lebanon, and threw kites that included fees and maps that define what it described as the “red line”, with an explicit warning of its crossing. The text of the leaflets stated:
“The red line is prohibited towards the Israeli border. Everyone who enters the colored area in red is at risk.”
The leaflets included areas adjacent to the Shebaa farms, which are considered one of the most sensitive points in the border conflict between the two countries. The attached maps were accurately determined by the targeted area, and showed that they constitute a new security range that Israel seeks to impose along the eastern sector of the border.
Previous security measures
This is not the first time that Israel has used the paper warning method. Lebanese warnings of devoting the occupation
The retired Major General of the Lebanese Army, Dr. Abdel -Rahman Chanteli, warned of the danger of the new Israeli measure, and considered it a clear attempt to impose a new reality on the southern border. He said in a statement:
“What Israel has today on the Shebaa Farms is an attempt to make this line as the northern part of the new ceasefire line between Lebanon and Israel, after trying to place a new truce line that starts from Naqoura to the Roma Bridge.”
Chinetly confirmed that the area covered in the procedure is about 50 square kilometers, which are Lebanese lands proven ownership of their owners and documented in the official agreements signed between Lebanon and Syria, stressing that any Lebanese acceptance in this line means practically the abdication of national lands.
Preventing access to agricultural lands
The Israeli step, according to Shamelly, aims to prevent Lebanese landowners from reaching their lands and cultivating them, which may lead to time to gradually devote the occupation, as happened in the Golan Heights, which Israel later included after imposing similar field facts.

Chusetli re -recalled that the borders between Lebanon and Syria were finally drawn in the seventies, after official meetings between real estate committees from the two countries, and the maps attached to the Lebanese and Syrian Councils were approved in 1970. An urgent official move invitation
Chinetly called on the Lebanese government to register an official and immediate objection to the United Nations, and to demand the removal of this measure, considering that silence opens the door to an attempt to include it in the future. He added:
“That is, negligence in responding to this line may disrupt any opportunities to liberate the occupied Lebanese territories and enshrine the reality of the occupation.”
Singing field escalation
Israeli paper warnings coincided with a series of field breaches on the ground, which included targeting a civilian mechanism in the town of Yaron, and a bomb dumping a car in Shebaa, and another sound near a sponsor. An Israeli force also penetrated into the Honin Valley at dawn, and entered two houses near Al -Adisa after taking off their doors and tampering with their contents.

In addition to the moves on the ground, several areas in the south, Bekaa and Beirut witnessed an intense flight of Israeli aircraft at low altitude, in a direct message that the paper warning is supported by field readiness for any possible escalation.
