His Eminence Dr. Nazir Muhammad Ayyad, the Mufti of the Republic, said that moderation represents the essence of the Islamic religion, and is reflected in all areas of life, starting with belief and behavior, through acts of worship and transactions, and ending with social and political morals and systems, stressing that Islam is a religion of balance and mercy, and its principles are able to lead societies towards peace and coexistence.
This came during a scientific lecture delivered by Prince Songkla University, south of the Kingdom of Thailand, under the title “Moderation in a Diverse Society”, on the sidelines of his official visit to the country, in the presence of the Thai Ambassador in Cairo, Tanawat Sirikul, and the province of Batmani Battimah Saddah Yamo, Vice President of the University Dr. Ashi Utiannantanet, Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences Dr. Muhammad Rafli, and a number Teaching staff and students.
Moderation in worship, dealing and advocacy
The Mufti explained that the moderation in Islam is reflected in the daily practices of Muslim, noting that Islamic acts are based on moderation, ease and raising the embarrassment, as Islam was keen to diversify and distribute acts of worship throughout the day, in a way that achieves ease and balance, and prevents excess or negligence, citing the hadith of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Religion is easy.”
The Mufti of the Republic pointed out that Islam warned against interruption and extremism, which was applied by the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, in his life, where he combined fasting and breaking breakfast, worship and comfort, marriage and devotion to worship, stressing that Islamic law is based on mercy, tolerance and facilitation, and not extremism and exaggeration.
The Mufti added that moderation also extends to dealing with others, as he called on Islam to respect other beliefs and refuse coercion in religion, as he ordered not to offend the beliefs of non -Muslims, in support of the principle of coexistence and pluralism, citing the words of God Almighty: God”*.
In the context of his talk about moderation in the call, the Grand Mufti of the Republic stressed that Islam calls for a communication with wisdom and good advice, and that his message is directed to all human beings without discrimination, explaining that religious tolerance and mutual respect are the basis for building stable and safe societies.
The balance between the world and the hereafter
His eminence pointed out that Islam establishes the concept of balance between the requirements of the world and the hereafter, as he called for the reconstruction of the land and the development of societies, while not being overlooked for the hereafter, citing the Almighty saying:
The Mufti affirmed that moderation is an authentic feature of Islamic legislation, and an inherent principle in dealing with people, as he called Islam to justice and equality, and to protect the dignity of man of different beliefs, as he ordered to give full rights to its people, and the rule between people with justice, without distinction.
His eminence stressed that extremism is not from Islam, and it represents only a deviation from its tolerant teachings, pointing out that Islamic history is full of forms of tolerance and coexistence between Muslims and others, and that Islamic societies have preserved the temples of others and the freedom of their worship, citing what the French historian “Gustav Lebon” said about the justice of the Muslim caliphs in dealing with non -Muslims.
The Palestinian issue and the Egyptian position
At the conclusion of the lecture, the Mufti of the Republic stressed that the Palestinian issue will remain the central issue of the Islamic and Arab nation, stressing that standing by the Palestinian people is a religious, moral and humanitarian duty, and emphasizing the fixed Egyptian position in supporting the Palestinian right to establish its independent state with its capital, Al -Quds Al -Sharif, based on the principles of justice that Islam calls for.
For his part, Dr. Ashi Utiannantaant, Vice President of the University, expressed his great appreciation to the Mufti’s Virtue, stressing that this visit represents scientific and spiritual support for Prince Songkla University, and reflects Egypt’s leading and scientific status, and its active role in spreading the values of tolerance and moderation and building bridges of civilized communication between peoples.
Dar Al Iftaa … a voice of moderation in the world
The Mufti of the Republic’s visit to Thailand comes within the framework of the Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa’s strategy to enhance communication with religious and academic institutions around the world, and to publish a Rashid Islamic speech based on moderation, moderation and openness to the other, based on its pioneering role in correcting false concepts of Islam, and promoting societal and global peace.
