In the context of its keenness to direct the Zakat funds to those who deserve it, according to the approved legal banks, the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat in cooperation with the Tawam Hospital implemented the “Patient” project initiative to support patients with cancer and reduce the suffering of them within the bank of the poor and the Zakati needy. The authority indicated that this project has contributed to providing therapeutic support for 60 sick cases of cancer, from incurable and urgent cases that require rapid therapeutic intervention, indicating that the total of the Zakat funds in this project amounted to about 2,092,354 dirhams.
