Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Salam, Secretary of the Fatwa at the Egyptian Ifta House, answered a question about the ruling on prayer in the mosque and is it obligatory or not?

Is prayer in the mosque obligatory?

Abdel Salam indicated, during television statements, today, Saturday, that whoever loves deeds to God is a lot of sin to mosques, and whoever loves deeds also waiting for prayer after praying in the mosque, pointing to the hadith of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, about the seven whom God remains in his shadow on a day that there is no shadow except his shadow: a man of his heart is stuck in the mosques, just as the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was always keen on praying in the mosque. And increase faith.

And on the legal ruling, Amin Al -Fatwa explained that the majority of jurists see that prayer in the mosque is a confirmed Sunnah and not obligatory, that is, whoever prays in his house is correct and there is nothing wrong with him, but if he prays his family or children in congregation, then he has the reward of the congregational prayer in full 27 degrees.

Ibrahim Abdel Salam emphasized that the presence of prayer in the mosque raises morals, increases faith, makes obedience easy for the soul, and is a reason for the love of God Almighty for the servant, and for this it is advised to preserve the performance of prayers in the homes of God as much as possible.
