Dr. Hassan Al -Yadak, Secretary of the Fatwa at the Ifta House, said that there is nothing wrong with Islamic law in reading the Holy Qur’an in the event of lying on the bed or reading without sitting, stressing that this is not inconsistent with the etiquette of recitation.

The hands explained, during televised statements, that God Almighty said in his dear book: “Those who mention God in resurrection and sitting and on their south”, which indicates the permissibility of mentioning God and reading the Qur’an in all cases, whether the person is standing, sitting or on his side.
He added that one of the etiquette of reading the Qur’an is that the reader be on purity, in the future of the qiblah, sitting with dignity, but the loss of some of these etiquette does not result in sanctity or prevents recitation, as it remains permissible in all cases.
He stressed the need for a Muslim to be ablution when touching the Qur’an, in compliance with what the jurists mentioned, with the exception of some cases such as memorization, education or exam, as scholars authorized the touch of the Qur’an without ablution for necessity.
He emphasized that the greatest destination is the permanence of the link to the Book of God, and the seizure of times to mention and recite it without cost or hardship, because the Qur’an is mercy and guidance for the believers.
Earlier, Dr. Ismail Al -Haddad, Secretary -General of the Supreme Council of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, held a meeting today, Saturday, with the members of the administrative convoy launched by the General Secretariat of the Governorates, to follow up on what was accomplished during its field trips in a number of Al -Azhar regions.
The meeting reviewed the efforts of the convoy, and the latest developments to follow up the implementation of the recommendations and proposals made by the convoy during its previous visits, and discussed ways to enhance work mechanisms and ensure the continuity of field follow -up, which contributes to raising the efficiency of performance in various Al -Azhar regions.
