Eng. Sheikh Mishaal bin Muhammad Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, and Professor Nawal Ibrahim Al -Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, made an inspection visit to a number of public schools that are currently subject to comprehensive maintenance work, including Beit Al -Hikma Primary School for Girls, and Isa City Secondary School for Boys, in order to see the progress of the work implemented within the plan of this year, and to meet the needs of the education sector according to the priorities and approved plans.
During the visit, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works clarified that the ministry has begun implementing a maintenance project of 27 government schools with the beginning of the summer vacation for schools, in preparation for receiving the new academic year 2025-2026, at a total cost of 9 million Bahraini dinars, pointing out that maintenance work includes various civil, mechanical and electrical work, in addition to internal and external dyeing, reforming doors and windows, and replacing extensions Electrical, water and damaged sanitary ware. Energy -saving lamps will also be installed and windows are replaced by heat insulating ones.
The Undersecretary added that the Ministry of Works is working in coordination with the Ministry of Education to maintain public schools according to the priority and its need for maintenance within an annual plan aimed at preserving the integrity of the building structure and improving the internal environment in it, prolonging its shelf life and ensuring its sustainability and raising its value and efficiency in terms of operational and economic, in a way that supports educational needs while preserving facilities and their contents and the safety of building users, in order to preserve At a high level of services.
For its part, Professor Nawal Ibrahim Al -Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, affirmed the continuation of the Ministry’s work to complete the preparations for the school return as required, through the implementation of a comprehensive plan for maintenance of public schools, in a manner that ensures the provision of a safe and attractive educational environment for students and members of educational and administrative bodies, adding that within the framework of these preparations, more than 29 thousand air -conditioning units, and the installation of about 5 thousand new air conditioners in different, was also completed. Schools, with allocating work teams to follow up on the efficiency of these units, and immediately deal with any emergency breakdowns in them, and make sure to apply sustainability standards in various maintenance work, through the use of high -quality and environmentally friendly materials, which contributes to prolonging the shelf life of these schools, and ensuring the continuity of the quality of the educational environment.
