Today, the Prison Authority carried out the death sentence by hanging against the accused, known to the media as the Ismailia, inside Wadi al -Natrun prison, amid strict security measures, after the exhaustion of all degrees of litigation and the issuance of the final ruling from the Court of Cassation.
The details of the case go back to November 2021, when the accused committed a heinous crime that shook public opinion, as he slaughtered one of the citizens in broad daylight in Al -Bahri Street in front of passers -by in the city of Ismailia, then separated his head from his body in a brutal manner, and injured two others while trying to save the victim.
The security services arrested the accused at the site of the accident, and was referred to the Criminal Court, which issued its verdict by hanging, and the Court of Cassation upheld the ruling to become permanently enforceable.
Investigations indicated that the accused was taking narcotic substances, and he previously committed theft and possession of a white weapon, which made the court confirm in the reasons for its ruling that “the accused is a risk of society, and he must be deterred by the maximum punishment.”
By implementing the ruling today, one of the most heinous crimes that the Egyptian street witnessed in recent years, which sparked widespread controversy and repeated demands to impose the maximum punishment for the perpetrator to achieve public deterrence.
